  • Promote the maintenance of current business contracts and the establishment of new core business with packaging customers
  • Ensure that company profitability requirements are met
  • Monitor and report changes in the market with respect to customers
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the Marketing and Sales Liaison departments whilst maintaining a high standard of quality, efficiency and harmony to meet the customer requirements
  • Identify and pursue new business within rigid packaging sector
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and clients
  • Provide technical support to customers resolving technical issues and collaboration with engineering and production to meet customer requirements.
  • Customer surveys issue to customers, collate feedback into report, make corrective action report and tracking implementation of actions to yield improved performance to customers
  • Forecasting, budgeting and provisions
  • Customer contracts (supply, warranty, licence agreements)
  • Manage from initial inquiry through to delivery and internal team coordination
  • Customer visits, competitor analysis, market research
Qualifications and role requirements:
  • Minimum 4-year bachelor’s degree in engineering, marketing, business administration or a related field.
  • 5 years related experience in the rigid plastic packaging industry in South Africa.
  • Proven experience in sales preferably within the packaging industry
  • Strong understanding of rigid packaging technologies and materials.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events – minimum 50% travel.
